At the world’s largest private university, spanning six continents and 14 cities, there are few common experiences all NYU students share. HashtagNYU was a digital brand meeting students where they were to celebrate NYU, shrink the psychological size of the University, and create a sense of belonging. Our content, aimed to delight students and add value to their journey, was created by students, for students.

I joined the team at the start of my sophomore year, gaining more responsibilities and expanding my skillset as the internship grew and evolved.

Through the years, I ended up doing a little bit of everything — snapping photos; pitching, writing, copyediting, and designing graphics for posts; producing, filming and editing videos; managing a community of global bloggers; covering live events; and curating Pinterest boards, FourSquare lists, and Spotify playlists. Once promoted to supervisor, I went on manage the intern team from recruitment to graduation — hiring, onboarding, leading meetings and special brainstorms, overseeing content production, and conducting check-ins and performance reviews.

Most of all, I had a lot of fun.
